Some flew alone, others carried passengers. All enjoyed the fine flying day out and the lunch.
There was a lot of talking and then they all happily flew off into the sunset.
Bega school reunion
Tathra Surf Club proved to be the perfect location for a relaxed and happy gathering of about 60 people celebrating their high school reunion on Australia Day.
They were people who left Bega High School in 1971 and 1973.
It was great to see some of the teaching staff that were at Bega High from 1968 onwards.
Special thanks go to former principal Stewart Longworth and his wife Joan, Frank Sheedy, Col McCrae, Bill and Joy Collier, Dave Wood, Marnie Nicholson and Jim Kelly for helping to make the night a success by attending.
Surprisingly, their anecdotes of the reunion class were mostly favourable.
Many people travelled long distances to meet up with their friends.
Margaret-Anne Nowacki (O'Brien) and her husband came all the way from Brisbane for the weekend.
Others who came long distances included Sharon Alcock, Kate Caddey, Lindy Myson, Janet Renard, Louise Bowditch, Judy Underhill, Lyn Girvan, Mark Owens, Bing Davidson, Paul Tyrell, Robbie Deacon and Steve Dowton.
Congratulations to Dave Greenland who won a bottle of wine kindly donated by classmate Paul Tyrell and also to Ron Sverdrupsen and Robbie Robertson for being the first to arrive and the last to leave.
There was lots of catching up on news and memory banks were working overtime as some people hadn't been in contact for over 33 years since leaving Bega High School.
