Garden fair
There will be an Autumn Garden Fair, arts and craft show and a monster auction on Saturday, April 13, from 10am to 3pm.
It will be held in the grounds of the All Saints Anglican Church, Wallaga Street, Bermagui.

Evening View
The next meeting of the Bega Evening View Club is the 23rd birthday dinner, which will be held at the Acoustic Cafe, Central Hotel, Bega, on Thursday, April 11, at 7.30pm.
The cost of the dinner will be $17 a head -take your own drink if you wish, corkage will be $2 a bottle.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Tom Pickard from Wollongong, an 80 year old who will speak about the changes he has seen over the years and his long history in the Wollongong theatre scene.

View Point for April is "Preserving the past, Creating the future".
Carleen Maley, Zone Counsellor presented certificates of appreciation to Norma Smith and Carol Stoney for their long service on the Bega Evening View Committee.

Old time dance
An old time dance will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at the Bega RSL Club at 8pm.
A good night assured to the music of Black Rose.
Everyone is welcome and tea and coffee will be available.
Dancers should note there will be no dance on April 13.

Tai-Chi Day
World Tai-Chi Day will be held tomorrow (Saturday).
To celebrate there will be demonstrations held in Littleton Gardens, Bega, and Spencer Park, Merimbula, at 10am.
Students at different levels of training will be showing their skills.

Pleasant Afternoon
A pleasant afternoon is to be held in the Presbyterian Church Hall, Upper St, Bega tomorrow (Saturday) at 2pm.

Tathra Hospital Auxiliary
The Tathra Hospital Auxiliary had a very busy week with two fundraising functions.
The first was at the Tathra Golf Club where they provided lunch for the ladies and held a cake stall.
A very successful day was had.
Thank you to ladies for their support as this is a yearly event.
On Saturday morning an Easter stall was held outside the Tathra Newsagency.
A big thank you to everyone who supported the stall.
The next meeting will be held in the community room at Haven Place at 2pm on Wednesday, April 10. New members are most welcome.

Tathra
craft fair
There will be a craft fair on Monday, April 8, from 9,30am to 12.30pm at the Tathra Uniting Church, showing the work done by the craft group with gifts and cards, some suitable for Mother's Day.
There will also be a demonstration of scrapbooking.
In addition, there will be a display of costumes from the Canberra production of "The Lion in Winter" shown by the designer, Anna Senior.
Entry will be by gold coin donation with proceeds going to local charities.
Tea, coffee and cakes will be available.

The general meeting of Bega Safety House will be held on Monday, April 8, at the Bega RSL Club.

Garden and Friendship
The next meeting of the Cobargo and Garden and Friendship Club will take place on Thursday, April 11, at noon at the home and garden of Barbara Anderson, "Tambara" on Wandella Rd, Yowrie.
Take your own lunch and enjoy a few fun hours of garden knowledge and friendship.

About 30 people enjoyed their garden and learnt from Pam Sweeny how to divide and standardise a lavender plant.

Engagement
Daryl Kirkhope and Nicole Rober't announced their engagement on March 15.
Daryl is the eldest son of Marie and the late Doug Kirkhope of Bega, and Nicole is the eldest daughter of Sharon and Len Skudder of Noosa.
Daryl and Nicole are both in the army in Townsville and are planning their wedding for early next year.
Congratulations and best wishes to you both from all your family and friends.

Heartbeats' picnic
The next picnic for members of the cardiac support group, Heartbeats, will be held on Monday, April 8.
It will be held at the Wallagoot Lake Boat Club, Bournda, just off Sapphire Coast Drive, from 11am.
Heartbeats is simply an informal social support and information exchange group for cardiac patients, their carers and friends.
Lunch is usually a BYO barbecue or sandwiches.
There's time for chats, walks, fishing or just to relax and enjoy the beautiful environment. An extra chair would also be useful.
Everyone is most welcome.
During February the group spent a most enjoyable week at Jindabyne, visiting the mountains, picnicking at lovely places each day and often went mushrooming.

Laurel Club
The annual meeting of the Bega Laurel Club was opened by Frank Hunt of the RSL Sub-Branch of the Bega RSL Club.
The new office-bearers are Margaret Dawson, president; Marie Collins, treasurer; Marjory Duke, publicity officer; Jo Butler and Dot Kermode, vice presidents. Lorna Kellaher is moving to Queensland and members wish her well and are sorry to see her go. She has been a member for many years.
On Anzac Day Margaret Dawson will lay a wreath at the Anzac Day ceremony in Bega.
There will be no April meeting due to club's trip.
Welcome back to Jess Nolan and Emily Smith, it's lovely to see them again. Gloria Ball and Marjory Duke were welcomed as new members.
All are welcome to the Torch Bearers representative lunch on May 22.
A special thanks to past president Lorna Kellaher for her 11 years as a working member.

Garden Club
The sheer delight on the faces of the residents in the Bega and District Nursing Home during Senior Citizens Week was a sight to behold as members of the Bega Garden Club distributed posies of flowers to each person there.
The event brightened the day for each one of them as the conversations were mostly about flowers and gardens of past times.
The March meeting was held in the garden of Sue Roberts of Springvale.
About 50 members with friends were present to see how to take cuttings and be successful in the propagation of carnations.
Rhonda Moore, whose husband Charlie died on March 26, thanked members for their condolences.
The April meeting will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 1.30pm at the property of Sue Hergenhan, 'Daisy View', Finucanes Lane, Bega.
Anyone interested in gardening is welcome to the meeting.
There will be a garden trading table.
The competitions will be for two cut flowers or stems and an ‘Easter Arrangement'.
The guest speaker will be John Cullen, fire protection officer, who will guide members on fire protection of their gardens and properties.
On April 20 members will welcome members of the Bemboka Garden Club to view three gardens.
There will be morning tea at the first stop which will be the garden of Roy and Dulcie Jeffrees.
The next garden will be that of Frances Adam and then it will be on to Valerie and Kevin Gill's garden.

breakfast
One of the most outstanding bishops of the Anglican Church in Australia, Bishop George Browning, Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn, will be the guest speaker at the next St John's Men's Breakfast to be held at Pat's Place in Auckland St, Bega, on Saturday, April 13.
All men in the community are welcome to attend the breakfast and hear Bishop Browning speak.
