The Bega Pioneers' Museum will hold an open day on Saturday, November 23, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
"Conservatrix" will demonstrate conservation techniques and the story of the "Tinker's Cart" will be told.
Devonshire teas will be available. Entry will be by gold coin donation.
All monies will go towards the preservation and presentation of the collection.

Art showing
Just a reminder that a Garden Party and Art Showing is being held at 1-3 Hill Street, Merimbula, on Saturday, November 23, commencing at 1pm.
An entry fee of $6 will include afternoon tea and an art tour and also the garden.
Art showings with small groups of people will take place on the hour and half-hour.
Spectacular views over Merimbula and the lake add interest to the occasion.
Proceeds of the day will go to further children's education in Papua/New Guinea.

Bali victims' appeal
There will be an appeal for the Bali victims at the Bega Bowling Club on Friday, December 6 at 8.30pm. Slice of Ice and a supporting will be playing.
There will also be a charity auction.

Market Day in Cobargo
There will be a Market Day in Cobargo this Saturday, November 23, from 8.30am till 1.00pm.
There will be the usual stalls with fruit and vegetables, home baked and home made goods, second hand goods, herbs and handmade jewellery.
It will be an opportunity to get some of your Christmas shopping done.
You can also view and place an order for a baby rabbit for Christmas.
Local businesses are also offering Market Day specials and discounts up until 1.00pm.
There will also be a demonstration of opal polishing outside Colourflash Opals on Bermagui Road.
For pizza lovers the mobile wood-fired pizza oven will be in Cobargo from 5.00pm opposite Apex Park.

Torch Bearers' Stall
The Bega Torch Bearers will be holding a stall in Church Street on Friday, November 29.
There will be plenty of cakes and preserves, and beautiful craft suitable for Christmas presents.

Bermagui Markets
The Bermagui Homemade Handmade markets are on this Sunday, November 24, in Dickinson Park from 8.00am till 12.30pm.
There will also be a special market before Christmas on Sunday, December 15.
These markets are co-ordinated by Tilba-Bermagui Red Cross.

Kangaroos and motorbikes
Dawn and Grant Davis and Rhonda and Mark Lane, a couple of local Bega motorcycle riders, took part in the annual Snowy run, a charity bike ride to raise money for children's cancer research, which was held last weekend at Jindabyne.
Unfortunately a very large kangaroo took a dislike to the colour of the Lane's bike and decided to jump out in front of them causing an accident.
They were admitted to Cooma hospital but were released that day with Mark receiving a broken foot and Rhonda cleared of suspected neck injuries.
By the way the "bikies" raised over $150,000 over the weekend.
•Monica and Len Phillips dressed up for the occasion of the Bega Valley Shire Council Christmas dinner and won a bottle of wine for their effort. The Christmas celebrations were held in the Tasman Room at the Merimbula Bowling Club.
•Guess who turned 50 on Thursday November 21st? Robbie Beetson. Love from Bryson, Matt, Kellie and Troy.
•Ian and Sue Alcock of Bemboka are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter Sally to Neal Smith, son of Alan and Lesley Smith of Bega. Neal and Sally have celebrated in Darwin where they are currently living.
•Margaret Davis, looked extremely glamorous in the outfit which won her Best Hat and Accessories at Breakfast at Tiffanys. The outfit was purchased from Rene Claire Fashions, 191 Carp Street, Bega and Roz and her staff congratulate Margaret on her win.

Carols-by-Candlelight
The Bega Community Carols-by-Candlelight will be held on Thursday, December 12, in Littleton Gardens commencing at 8.00pm.
A community choir has been formed, and will have its first rehearsal on Thursday, November 28, next at the Bega Baptist Church, commencing at 7.00pm.
Any members of the community wishing to participate in the choir is asked to attend.

Community market
The Bemboka Lions Club is holding their community market this Saturday and the raffle this month will be a side of lamb, provided by Kydd's Butchery.
This will be followed by a dance at the Bemboka Hotel to the sounds of "Once Bitten".

Underwood/
Whitby Wedding
Jeweleen Underwood and Jason Whitby were married on Saturday, October 19, at the Camplung Mas Hotel in Kuta, Bali.
Jeweleen is the daughter of Triffina Underwood and Mike Tui of Queanbeyan.
Jason is the son of Maurie and Roma Whitby of Peak Hill Road, Bega.
Jason, Jeweleen and their sons Jackson and Jaccob arrived in Kuta, Bali the morning after the Bali bomb attack.
They were horrified to think that their special day was going to be ruined by the terrorist attack on Bali.
They defied the warning to leave and stayed on to make their vows with friends within the Hotel.
Jeweleen wore a shoe-string strap dress that was purple, pink shimmer in colour.
Jason and the boys wore dark suits.
Friends from Bali, Holland, London, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and all the staff helped them to celebrate their special day.
After a wonderful wedding day and honeymoon in Bali, Jason, Jeweleen and children will make their home in Wolumla.
